Exclusive Use Wedding Venue near Girona: Prices, Spaces and How It Works

Looking for a wedding venue near Girona where the whole place is yours for the weekend? Hotel Vall Amagada del Molí is a restored 1789 watermill and Catalan masia in the green Llémena valley, 30 minutes from Girona. Here is how an exclusive use wedding works, what it costs and what to know about the legal side as an international couple. 💍
Why choose an exclusive use wedding venue?
No other guests: the entire property, rooms included, belongs to your wedding party.
A wedding weekend, not a wedding day: guests arrive together on Friday, celebrate on Saturday and recover over brunch on Sunday.
Everyone under one roof: 42 guests sleep on site, so nobody needs a taxi at two in the morning.
The spaces
Patio: an intimate Catalan courtyard for a smaller ceremony, aperitif or private dinner.
Stretch tent: a covered space for the ceremony, a long dinner and dancing under one roof.
Pool terrace: welcome drinks, a light lunch or dinner by the water.
The lobby: the stone heart of the masia, with original beams; the rain plan for the ceremony and a dance floor at night.
The meadow and gardens: for a ceremony under the trees with the mill behind you.
Ceremony and dinner spaces welcome up to 100 guests, with a floor plan designed together with you.

Can you get legally married in Spain?
For most international couples, a legally binding civil wedding in Spain is not realistic: the Spanish procedure is designed for residents, and at least one partner generally needs to live in Spain. That is why most couples marry legally at home first and then celebrate with a symbolic ceremony at the venue, with their own celebrant, vows and rituals such as handfasting or a wine ceremony. If one of you does live in Spain and you want a civil ceremony at the hotel, Hotel Vall Amagada del Molí coordinates the date and the officiant with the local town hall.
A typical wedding weekend
Friday: check in from 13:00, vermut on arrival and a paella night in the garden.
Saturday: ceremony in the afternoon, drinks by the pool, dinner in the stretch tent and dancing until late.
Sunday: a long brunch before check out at 12:00.
Staying longer? Add wine tastings, a day on the Costa Brava, a guided gravel ride with your guests or fire pits with cocktails and live music.

Getting there
Girona Costa Brava airport is about 35 minutes by car and Barcelona El Prat about an hour and a half. The high speed train from Barcelona Sants reaches Girona in 38 minutes. Transfers for guests can be arranged on request, and parking on site is free.
